The Loh-liest Writers
What kind of a person can write about a complex physics theory or explain the intricacies of our universe in 125 words...and make it funny? The "Loh Down" writers are an amazing group of about 20 scribes working day and night to bring you understandable and humorous science factoids.
They include a Caltech alumnus/recipient of the Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest--that bad writing contest in which contestants TRY to write as poorly as possible, named for the author of the 1830s book that starts out "It was a dark and stormy night..."
We also have writers who pen for TV, others wrote for Bob Hope, we have at least one geologist, a former Discover magazine writer, a career science information officer who is working on a Ph.D. in English literature, a physics professor, and a children's book author.
We are extremely grateful for their interest in bringing science to the masses, and the talent they share with us. Without them, the "Loh Down" would be extremely....uh...quiet.
Thanks, you crazy bunch of science maniacs!
